Could it possibly be? An actual drumming diary post? Wow, I thought I'd never see the day.
Anyway, Diver at Fado last night. Out of the kindness of my heart, the need for an easy and constant distraction at work, and a deep-seated desire to make the band work more efficiently, I put together a lyrics book for Anto. Everything -- or at least nearly everything -- printed out, and in alphabetical order, assuming you know that the song is called "Play That Funky Music" and not "Funky Music."
The unintended consequence here is that I didn't realize the extent to which the rest of the band recognizes which dog-eared piece of paper or bar napkin is on the music stand when we're figuring out what tune we're going to play next. So I'm going to take another crack at it and make the song titles much, much bigger on the page.
Best part of the night was Anto totally flubbing "you made somebody's heart break" in "Disease" in spectacularly dyslexic fashion, as indicated by the title of the post. Of course, there's no one else playing in that part, so you could probably hear Tony and I cracking up all the way back at the bar.
And capos? We don't need no stinking capos!
The "annual Diver rehearsal" is tentatively on for next week after a false start this past Wednesday.
