It may be a post-hoc rationalization, but I'm starting to think the source of my latest bout of lethargy is dehydration. Two nights ago, my throat was raw all night, and last night, I filled the humidifier and feel much better. This works in context of a little too much drinking over the weekend as well. In total, I just haven't felt like doing much at all, and yesterday I felt completely out of it. The musical practice schedule has gone out the window, but that should change back as soon as today.
Another riff on a "dry season" of sorts is that Louisa is now en route to the other side of the world for about seven months. I actually had a dream about her leaving this morning, which was somewhat odd in it's sheer timeliness. I don't know that I'll be drinking less with her being gone, but it's certainly a possibility. Given my suspicions about the dehydration, I probably should make a point of not imbibing any alcohol for at least a little while. It's not that I'm out getting smashed or anything, it's just that drinking seems to dry me out more severely than most, and if that's going to suck all the energy out of me, it needs to stop.
So, now that I sound like I'm a drunken slacker, it's off to disprove that notion. Clusterfunk, the one glaring omission from the big page of bands I've been in, needs immediate attention if we're going to get rolling this year. We were supposed to start up a week from today, but schedule conflicts are pre-empting that for the moment. I'm still a bit nervous about working with people who really do play music for a living, and about leading a band in that context. It's irrational, I know, but still there, so I've been slacking off far too much on it. That changes today, dammit.
