Given the tenor of the last post and ensuing debate, you'd think this would be about our struggling economy. Well, again, it's my site, and I'll switch gears as I see fit, and relegate that interesting debate to the archives.
Mostly, it's just that I can't think about much of anything other than how much pain my feet are in right now.
Let this serve as a warning to all of you out there. If you're using some salycylic acid-based product to treat foot ailments such as callouses, corns or warts, and it subsequently kills a lot of the skin on the soles of your feet, you may want to take care that said dead skin hasn't loosened significantly, or perhaps torn around the edges before you, say, go and play soccer. Because that might cause the dead skin to tear away violently before the new skin underneath is ready for prime time, and trying to walk about on that new tender skin hurts. A lot. Especially when the afflicted area includes the ball of either foot. To say nothing of the original problem, which brings about it's own discomfort.
If that made you wince at all, imagine how I feel.
Aside from that, my shoulder is feeling a bit better. Most of last week involved not being able to reach across my body with my right arm, after embellishing a foul perhaps a bit too much in order to get a call on Tuesday night. Didn't affect my drumming that much, as I generally don't move much above the elbow, but it sure as hell made sleeping uncomfortable.
Yeah, I know, I'm like the anti-Clinton. Instead of feeling your pain, I'm making you share mine. Good thing I ponied up for that individual health care plan, because the economy still sucks. Hey look, continuity!
