I'm still struggling with the notion that April Fools Day came and went and I didn't even try anything. Too much going on, I guess.
After the excessive navel-gazing over the weekend, it's been the (hopefully) triumphant return of "Coz, Man of Action." Sent out a bunch more résumés on Monday, and followed up on some leads that had grown a bit colder. Some of that already seems to have helped, but not in any concrete way just yet. I'm also starting to push the musical front, particularly the solo acoustic cover song project. I've got leads on some bars that might work out. Now I just need to follow up. And once again, Clusterfunk is moving from the back burner. Hopefully, this time it will take.
Voiceover work is next on the man of action's plan of action, but I'm going to wait until after my last class next Monday before opening those particular floodgates.
Back on the world front, I think everyone has it drilled in their head that they should be saying "coalition" forces instead of "American" forces, and "the war with Iraq" instead of "the war on Iraq." I still can't get over, however, this notion that two weeks is too long, and .02% or so of the total force represents a high casualty rate. I guess that's to be expected, given the nature of the wall-to-wall-to-sand-dune coverage, along with the absurdity of American overconfidence from the administration, the media, and subsequently, mostly by osmosis, the bulk of the people. It does go a long way to further validate recently-pilloried filmmaker Michael Moore's point in his Oscar-winning Bowling For Columbine, and that's this idea that the media has more of an effect on our collective opinions than perhaps we even realize.
I'm on a weird day or two delay here, so last night's Queens of the Stone Age show will have to wait.
