Okay, so tonight is the first time I've ever really performed solo. Yeah, I've been doing open mike nights for about the last year and a half, but that's not the same. This time, I'm getting PAID, and will be responsible for filling the entire evening. Looking over my book, I've certainly got enough tunes, and for the most part, they're songs I'm not terribly worried about messing up. For the record, I'll probably be skipping the Zappa and King Crimson. So I think I'm ready, which is frightening in its own right. If these sorts of gigs persist, though, I'll need a smaller PA than the one I'm lugging around for tonight, which admittedly isn't mine, but mine is pretty much the same size. You don't need 15" cabinets for a small bar gig.
In other news, I'm in the background of a picture in the June issue of Men's Journal, the one with Dale Earnhart on the cover. The Fire promoted the photo shoot at Ginger's Ale House a couple months back, and having loads of free time, I figured "why not?" So my path toward soccer fan ubiquity continues.
Break a leg, Chris (in fact, I bet you're stumming away right now!).
