Just this morning, I was reading a news piece in The Week (a magazine which I can't possibly recommend highly enough) on spam, and I wondered, who the hell responds to unsolicited penis enhancement offers? Who out there thinks they're aiding some African country with cash-flow problems? Obviously, someone is responding to these things, or even the cheapness of the marketing efforts wouldn't be worthwhile.
Then, later this afternoon, I, unemployed guy, bought a $150 upgrade to my desktop recording software, based on an e-mail offer from Cakewalk. So maybe I'm just as much of a sucker as those whose penises are now larger than they were. Or not. And I wonder what kind of search results I'll pop up in based on that last sentence. I still need to get some sort of search term results happening here, among other site reporting improvements. Anyway, the point being, spam is about unsolicited offers. I actually opted in with Cakewalk, because I knew, at some point, I could stand to improve my tools. Particularly the compression plug-ins, which will boost quality quite a bit.
As it happens, I just arranged to produce some demo tracks for a friend here in Command and Control, which will pay for the software, no sweat. I've also finally picked up a drum loop CD, which should help kickstart some of my songwriting. It's odd, but I need something to react to in order to get the creative juices flowing. Actually, if you know me at all, it's not the least bit odd, but I'm not going to flog that reactive vs. proactive horse again right now.
