NP: John Cage, 4'33" (extended dance mix)
Okay, so my minor injuries don't seem so bad anymore. I dropped by my Sunday team's game today to lend some moral support, as I'm still working through the calf and quad strains. Of course, they were pretty short-handed, so were I healthy, I would have gotten a good deal more playing time than usual, but also, my friend Cory landed hard after a challenge and broke his collarbone in two places. Ouch, and get well soon.
Other crises today included Lindsie temporarily misplacing one of her cats, which caused great consternation and the cancellation of rehearsal. Since Kev and I were already at the space, we finished assembling the new shelves, with the exception of adding the wheels to one of the units, seeing as how we needed a hammer, and no hammers presented themselves. Anyway, we'll mostly regroup tomorrow to prepare the rock and the roll for Thursday's show.
Last night's Fire game was a good time. Section 8 was a-rockin', and Kansas City's goalie, New Jersey native and former Jet Tony Meola let in not one, but two absolute howlers. One long shot slipped right through his hands when he was down at are end, so we didn't really let him hear the end of that. Chicago now holds the number one spot in the East at the All-Star break, and is only two points back of the overall lead with a game in hand on San Jose.
Later tonight, I get my TV back, as the last stretch of the Tour de France will be committed to videotape.
I've always preferred the silent, phat, grunge hip-hop beats of the "Extended Dance Mix" to the silent, tribal rhythm of the "Jungle Mix."
A good name keeps its lustre in the dark. (c)
