NP: U2, "With Or Without You" (MP3)

Okay, so last night's holiday festivities may turn out to be important on a couple levels. Well, one, anyway. There's a new year's resolution lurking around the corner that just might be very, very significant in terms of the eight million irons I've got in various fires. Something I should have started working on at least a year or two ago. That's all I'm going to say about it for now.

Basically, the last couple weeks of 2003 are likely going to include a whole lot of deliberating about the future, although there are a couple of things that could make those deliberations much simpler. Job interviews and the pursuit thereof, for the most part.

Anyway, the other notable bit from last night was finding out that (a) Lee Ann, the singer whose demo I just finished recording on my half-assed desktop recording rig, knows Johnny K, and (b) she gave a copy of the demo to him. Once again, I feel like I just showed my high school science project to Stephen fucking Hawking. This guy has produced platinum records for Disturbed, and he's going to be checking out the work of a total recording neophyte flying by the seat of his pants. I'm a little embarassed and humbled, but at least I know Johnny, so it's not as weird as if she gave it to, say, Butch Vig.

This, of course, has pushed the feel-good story I promised off the front page for now. Maybe tomorrow, maybe not. Right now, I've got to focus on a couple more social engagements, tomorrow's job interview, and continuing to fight through this damn cold. Chicken broth is an amazing thing.
