NP: David Bowie, The Singles Collection (CD)
I'm going to go out on a limb and make a political prediction. John Edwards will be the vice presidential candidate for the Democrats in 2004.
To me, this doesn't even seem to go out on much of a limb. His latest burst of momentum, stemming from the Des Moines Register endorsement, might get him into third in Iowa, but he's still at least fourth in New Hampshire, and I'm not convinced the hometown charm will snare him the lead in South Carolina. Meanwhile, he has refrained from attacking most anyone save President Bush, he's got southern state cred, and is giving up his Senate seat. Plus, he'd undoubtedly score big in a debate with Dick "Yank My" Cheney, just on account that he's actually been seen smiling.
Going to see Bowie tonight, and very excited about it. There are not many artists that I'd shell out $100 to see when I don't have regular employment, and he's one of them.
