NP: John Cage, 4'33" (neptunes remix)
This is going to be largely irrelevant when I crosspost it to LiveJournal, but I've been spending some time under the hood here on the site. If you watch the "recent comments" column on the right with any regularity, you will have noticed the absurd amount of comment spam lately, so I'm thinking about turning off comments site-wide until the next big release of Movable Type comes out. It's not like the comment space is particularly active, so no great loss there.
Which is as close as I'm going to get to asking people to interact more, so I know that you're there.
I do have a better idea of who's here, though, since my webhost finally decided to tell me, after nearly two years, that I can download the raw logfiles for the site traffic. So I grabbed some free site analysis downloads and I've now got a much better picture of what's going on. Including search terms, finally. Oddly enough, the biggest yield of pageviews in the last month from a search term was for "Lloyd Dobbler," who I think I mentioned exactly once.
You can also now subscribe to the Diver mailing list using a CGI form via the site, and I'll be updating the list.in.to.chicago subscription process to use forms as well, instead of invoking your e-mail client. I've been told that the script is not going to be hijacked remotely by spammers, so we'll see how that goes.
If I'm feeling particularly crazy this weekend, the site might even switch over to MySQL. Upon further inspection, it doesn't seem all that hard. I know, who am I and what have I done with Slacker!Coz?
I'm not wincing quite so much when I go up stairs or get in my car, but I still can't sleep on my right side. My hip is still very colorful, but I'm not intending to do anything terribly physical until the soccer and volleyball leagues start up. So I've got some time for my body to return to it's normal shade and hue. On the lower-impact side of physical activity, bike season officially starts for me tomorrow, when I get mine back from the shop after it's tuneup.
That was just one of the many efforts to get things in order before returning to the full-time daily grind on Monday, and I'm happy to say I've got most of my proverbial ducks in a proverbial row. Still have to change the strings on the acoustic for tonight's big show, but that's pretty much it now that the taxes have been mailed. And the roommate is off today for Good Friday (oops, ate meat, going to hell, sorry Mom) and intends to clean most of the non-Coz areas of the apartment, which will only help.
Now I need to close out the part-time gig, which is just a tiny bit emotional, because the coffee is good up here today.
