Mickey Mouse MVP

NP: Living Colour, Time's Up (CD)

For the near term, a lot of my job seems to entail running queries and reports to amass very, very large Excel files which get funnelled into SPSS before yielding the keys to the search engine marketing universe. Which means odd little pockets of time waiting for things to run that aren't terribly conducive to much of anything. Except maybe the random and quick blog post.

Anyway, I had ESPN playing in the background on Saturday at some point betwen soccer and basketball broadcasts, and they were interviewing NBA MVP Kevin Garnett. The question was something like "how does it feel to play so well, then get knocked out of the first round of the playoffs." His answer, and I'm not making this up, was that it felt like the little girl at the beginning of Little House on the Prairie when the butterfly flies out from her hands. I'm paraphrasing, but only a little. I know ESPN is a Disney network, and that means family-friendly, but good god, that's ridiculous.

I don't think New Jersey and Los Angeles taking one back in their respective series is such a big deal. If you're down 2-0 and returning to your home court, you damn well better be able to win game 3, otherwise you don't belong in the playoffs. It's not looking like either team will advance, which is unfortunate for the Nets, but not so much for the Lakers, although I feel bad for Karl Malone.
