Okay, I saw "Sudden Quiet in Karbala Is Puzzling to U.S. Forces" and thought to myself, "what, was Madonna evangelizing in Iraq all of a sudden?" But that's kabala. Although I've mostly seen it spelled kaballah. Or sometimes Scientology.

Bought me a TiVo yesterday. Actually a combination TiVo/DVD player, with the main drawback being a much crappier remote control, so I'll be trying to assimilate that into my universal remote "commander," 'cause control wasn't enough for this little Sony gadget. It must command.

Throwing money down on toys makes me think I'm not too concerned about last week's acquisition announcement. Of course, I haven't been sending the Kent Brockman "new insect overlords" WAV file around the office, either, which could be a stronger indicator.

Crew vs. Fire from Soldier Field this afternoon, on ESPN2. I'm expecting lots of camera love, especially since I've got massive electric razor burn on my neck, the result of trying too hard to avoid a cut from yesterday. Then, hopefully I'll be able to drag some of the team up to Cullen's. Tomorrow's going to be brutal.
