Where's Wolfie?

NP: The Darkness, Permission to Land (CD)

Okay, so there's some sort of trade show across the river at the Merchandise Mart called NeoCon, and I'm sorely tempted to go over there and ask anybody if they've seen Paul Wolfowitz or Doug Feith. Or start an ironically misguided Iraq protest.

Feeling oddly validated lately, with some tangible results of the new job via a brief presentation on Friday that went over well, and two "new" gigs last week with bands that just really like having me there.

Went to a party at a friends just off of the Ribfest strip on Saturday, and there was a woman there who looked a lot like Charlize Theron. It's times like these I wish I was better at mingling. I'm not terrible at it, but this particular instance would have just involved me hovering until I could maybe say something witty, and that's kinda creepy, so I figured I'd just sit tight and see if a legitimate opportunity (other than tripping up the stairs at one point) would present itself. It didn't, she left, no big deal.

Also passed up on my chance to meet the High Carb Honeys in person, but in my defense, I didn't think witty e-mail banter last week was enough to keep me from wearing a beer or two for previous comments in this space.

Digging the Darkness more than I did on the first listen. Maroon 5 isn't holding up quite so well, but I have to reorient my expectations on that one a bit.
