NP: Robyn Hitchcock, Jewels for Sophia (CD)
What I'm trying to figure out is, why are quarterly estimated taxes due 15 days after the end of the quarter twice, and 15 days before the end of the quarter twice?
Since I'm back on salary, it may be moot, as I can just manipulate my withholding to cover the taxes from my freelancing and my music. Speaking of the latter, now that I'm back to full-time employment, suddenly everybody wants to hire me as a drummer. While that's putting a bit a squeeze on the free time, along with making me perennially late for every appointment, it's not really causing any trouble. If I keep most of the gigs on weekends, it should stay that way.
Still doing the open jam, though, and after about four weeks of either just dropping in for a bit or missing it altogether, it was kind of refreshing, in a "coming home" sense. Tom Waits, one original, and the triumphant return of OutKast rounded out my mini-set.
Back on the tax front, the other interesting loophole seems to be the fact that I don't have to send in estimated taxes because my total tax bill last year was so tiny. Apparently it's what you think you have to pay this year, or what you paid last year, whichever is smaller. Still, I'm going to tweak a W-4 just in case.
I tweaked the site a bit earlier this week, but not in ways that anyone will really notice. Except maybe that the comments are now the last five overall instead of the last one in each category. More stuff coming, especially if we get more rain tonight and tomorrow when I was hoping to finally make my debut with my volleyball and soccer teams, respectively.
Finally, Pockets needs to give its customers forks that will actually pierce their calzones. You'll just have to take my word for it.
