It's Clobbering Time

NP: Maroon 5, 1.22.03. Acoustic (Rhapsody)

I forget, was that The Thing's line from the Fantastic Four?

Anyway, the home computer is rapidly approaching paperweight status. I have a suspicion that installing AOL just fucked everything up, to the point where I actually boot up properly about half the time. This is not a good ratio. I switched the billing info, uninstalled the app, and even ran a System Restore to a happier time before things went to shit, so we'll see what happens the next time I have a couple hours to kill booting and rebooting the machine.

The other potential culprits are Microsoft's Service Pack 2 for XP, but that had been running smoothly for about a week, and that damn ZIP drive again. I'm starting to think that the nasty solution Iomega suggested that involved pulling out the SCSI card and reassigning IRQs and whatnot might actually be necessary.
