Measure Twice, Drive Once

NP: Soundgarden, Badmotorfinger (Rhapsody)

As of last week, I've been training with an honest-to-goodness men's soccer club. If this works out, I feel like I'm going to get significantly better as a player, and much more in shape. Anyway, one thing I'm learning -- other than I'm old, slow and out of shape -- is that I need to double-check times and places for practices, as I cursed my way through a crowded Kennedy Expressway and construction on Devon to find nobody at Olympia Park last night. Nobody from the team, anyway.

On the way back, I stopped off at one of the eight million new CVS stores, which are rivaled in their proliferation only by the massive numbers of Bank One storefronts that'll have to change their signage when the merger is final. This particular store had to have the most optimistic parking lot I've ever seen. It's a really, really big parking lot. I can't imagine there ever being enough customers to justify the number of parking spaces.
