NP: Mike Keneally Band, Dog
I'm reading Slate's take on Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and why Bush didn't go after him before the war, and it dawned on me. Not only has the war "that has been brought upon us" in Iraq (that Ari Fleischer was so adorable!) launched on flimsy pretenses, but it could have been pulled off in a way that actually didn't take the "eye off the ball" with regard to the War on Terror.
Seriously, why couldn't Bush have attacked al-Zarqawi's camp in Northern Iraq in an effort to both take care of a known terrorist and provoke Iraq into a response that would then justify his removal? Or at least demand Hussein serve him up and then use that as justification (de facto harboring of terrorists) if/when he refused?
