NP: Suns vs. Bulls
I knew my car needed some work. Brakes felt a little worn down, and at least one tire was losing pressure faster than I might like. I had figured on maybe $800 or so.
Off by a factor of two, and then some. Ow, again.
I'm not getting bent out of shape over the cost, as it's been, with one exception, stuff that eventually needs to be replaced. Cost of doing business, and I'm still going to be out of debt sooner rather than later.
However, I'm starting to get a little annoyed with my mechanic on the expectations front. You may recall the whole repainting ordeal from last winter, where they didn't have my car ready on at least five different occasions when they said they would. Today was more of the same. Told me yesterday that it would be done first thing today, I didn't even try to get it until after work tonight, and now some part didn't come in. So now they're saying tomorrow.
Which wouldn't be terrible except that I had to walk three-quarters of a mile to get there and then another mile home on that strained Achilles. I'll definitely be calling first tomorrow night. And now I've got to take the El to Vaughan's tonight. Hopefully whatever was FUBARing the Brown Line for the evening rush is taken care of.
