NP: Robbie Williams, The Ego Has Landed
So, after a particular grueling day at work yesterday, I was greeted at Clark and Lake by the CTA Holiday Train. This was my second sighting in two days, which seems mildly creepy in the Stephen King "possessed trains are following me" sense. As fate would have it, it was a Green Line, and I was headed west to get my car, so I got two stops of CTA employees dressed as elves handing out candy canes and leading commuters in Christmas carols under green and red lights.
As cheesy as that sounds, it was actually kind of heartwarming -- and kicked off a pretty satisfying evening across the board. Although I resisted the urge to lead a rousing verse or five of "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch." That's being saved for tonight, although a holiday party for one of our main business partners might preclude me from actually remembering any of the lyrics.
