Good Government At Work

One of the advantages -- if you can call it that -- of a meeting that has virtually no bearing on your life or your responsibilities is that you're free to observe other things that are potentially much more important. Like this statement on the new chairs in the new training room on our new floor:

This label is affixed in compliance with The Upholstered and Stuffed Articles Act.

Upon cursory investigation, it turns out said act is actually Canadian. I'm surprised by this, as it sounds like something we would come up with. Universal healthcare, and now this. They really take care of you up there, eh? Talk about legislation that is integral to the fabric of our lives.

Okay, I'll stop now, lest I be thought a hypocrite.

Or, at least, I'll leave it to others to pick up the thread...

Really stopping now.
