Quality Control

NP: John Cage, 4'33"

Nice upset for the Bulls last night, but Lacy J. Banks from the Sun-Times seems to have just phoned it in. I don't know if the game was too late for the story to make the print edition, so they didn't bother editing it, or what. Some of the more egregious bits, in case they fix it later:

The Bulls also got 12 points and a crucial blocked shot with five seconds to play from forward Tyson Chandler, who grabbed a win-saving rebounds with two-tenths of a second left.

Okay, so that's mostly just a typo. These things happen.

Four straight Sonic scoring possessions, featuring three turnovers and a missed Jerome James dunk, allowed the Bulls to score the first five points on a three-point play by Davis and a Curry dunk.

The Bulls scored the first five points on four Sonic scoring possessions? Doesn't a scoring possession imply that, I don't know, they scored?

The confusion at the table was so gross that they not only kept giving the wrong score for the third period, but failed to give out stat sheets and the play-by-play

Ew, gross!

Again, I think this is, effectively, an unedited draft of the real story that got posted. But still, we're talking about the website of a major metropolitan newspaper here.
