All The News That Fits

NP: The Killers, Hot Fuss

I've gone nearly six days without reading a newspaper, which is making me more than a little twitchy. So think of this as me liveblogging while I blast through the backlog.

  • Great headline: Kyrgyz Prtstrs Vrthrw Gvrnmt
  • All Schiavo, All The Time. I'm so going to hell for this, but this story has been done to death, hasn't it? I've read some interesting stuff on both sides of the "debate," but not enough to feel like I can speak to the details.
  • No News Is Good News. For Some. Not a whole heck of a lot on Social Security lately. I wonder why that is?
  • Timing is Everything. In a period where TV news is increasingly under scrutiny, two of the big networks have changed anchors and, by extention, approaches. And while incremental changes at CBS may look relatively large because they were so far down, they seem to be changing their fundamental approach more than NBC. This is a good thing.
  • Preach it, Brother Bill. I haven't read a lot of the "what's wrong with the Democratic Party" treatises in the wake of the 2004 election, but this seems like a good one from the former New Jersey senator and New York Knick. I've said it before, but I would have been proud to be an American voter if the 2000 election was Bradley versus McCain.

Now I've just got a mass of blog posts to skim, and I'll be relatively current.
