NP: Pistons vs. Heat

Okay, I meant to write about this when I first saw it last week. KFC has a new menu item out right now. Perhaps you've seen it. "Boneless Blazin' Buffalo Wings," with all the implied flavor that much alliteration can imply. And how do they convey the quality of the chicken?

100% breast meat.

That's right, Buffalo Wings made with 100% breast meat.

What frickin' genius came up with that? Is this one of those weird cultural sensitivity things, where they thought "100% white meat" -- which would communicate the same thing without the cognitive dissonance -- might have some sort of subtle racist implications? I say "one of those" because I remember seeing McDonalds' breakfast menu some years ago with the tagline "Just Say Orange Juice!" in the corner, which had obviously been "Just Say O.J." before that whole O.J. Simpson unpleasantness, what with the killing his wife and all.

Even so, KFC would rather look incredibly stupid than maybe, possibly misinterpreted as racially insensitive? I can't say I'm surprised, but it doesn't exactly instill me with pride at being an American.
