Like Spinning Plates

NP: Foo Fighters, In Your Honor

My second hard drive on my home machine is making loud clicking noises when it spins, and seems pretty close to giving up the ghost. Sometimes it doesn't show up with I reboot the machine. This is not encouraging news, at least until I figure out if it's got enough life to transfer all the files to the big external drive. If anyone knows anything about when, exactly, it becomes a paperweight and how to avoid that happening. Now's the time to speak up.

It's been two weekends in a row of bad things happening at places I've been. Last week, it was the shooting at C.J. Arthur's. This week a massive fire at a grocery store. Not one I've been to with any frequency, but I have definitely been there.

In other news, my jaw still hurts from blocking a cross with my face in a rather futile 5-0 loss yesterday. It's a little more my teeth than my jaw, actually. My neck sort of snapped to the right, and I think I must have bitten down really hard in the process. I probably could have netted a goal or two in the match, and in total, I feel like I'm getting more comfortable with the ball near the goal. The next step is actually scoring.
