Climate Control

NP: Faith No More, Album Of The Year

Back when I was in high school, there was this persistant rumor that our heating and cooling systems were actually controlled in Atlanta, of all places. The weather not being anything at all the same in suburban New Jersey as in Georgia, this because a convenient hack for any sort of discomfort. Why isn't it hot/cold enough? Because the system is in Atlanta?

I don't know if I ever really believed it, but then I read this in Chicagoist. Apparently the original computer controlling Buckingham Fountain was, in fact, located in Atlanta. So maybe controlling the air conditioning in a Scotch Plains high school isn't so far-fetched.
