Odd Side-Effect

NP: Soundgarden, Badmotorfinger

This is weird. Back when I was switching hosts for notabbott.com, I set automatic forwarding through my old host for my e-mail address. Then, when the changeover happened, there was a slow migration where messages went to one server or the other, and ultimately nearly all the mail is now going to the right place.

Except that it isn't. One mailing list that I'm on goes to the forwarding address, but more curiously, a whole lot of spam does as well. Since it's all going to my gmail account, it just gets caught in the spam filter over there, but it's still odd that at least half of my inbound spam seems to have old information as to my whereabouts. I'm sure there's a reason for this, but it's the first I've seen of it.
