Good Call

NP: King Crimson, Discipline

I took some work home with me this weekend, but never got around to it. There was an outside chance of getting to it last night, but I opted to work on prepping list.in.to.chicago so it really did only take up my lunch hour today at the office, which is the premise I work under to get it out the door more or less on time. This way, I wouldn't be distracted first thing this morning when I had to meet today's deadline.

Anyway, you can imagine how thankful I was that I didn't actually put any of my free weekend time into it when I got the e-mail just now where somebody else on the project punted their part further down the calendar.

I don't mind the work put in today, though. It's been exercising parts of my work-related mind that I haven't had the opportunity to use in a great while. Between that and the notion that I might dive headlong into serious statistical modeling, I can practically smell the burnt dust of long-unused synapses in my brain.
