NP: John Cage, 4'33"
Right around this time last year, I took some tentative steps toward moving out of my current apartment. I had a pretty decent budget I was willing to put toward an apartment, but couldn't find anything I liked.
Now, I'm looking again -- this time out of necessity more than curiosity -- and there seems to have been some sort of sea change in the renters' market, at least in my neighborhood. Maybe it's a byproduct of the housing boom, or a trend in "life changes" among people up here, but there seem to be plenty of decent options this time around.
Of course, I'm basing this purely on the first place I've actually looked at, as it compares to the advertised details of some other, ostensibly similar places I'll be checking out tomorrow. More news later on whether or not the early perception holds. If it doesn't, I just have to hope nobody rents the place I looked at tonight out from under me. I could do a lot worse.
