NP: Lewis Taylor, Stoned
I caught the end of Hardball last night while I was waiting for Olbermann to come on, and they were talking about Rudy Giuliani and the 2008 presidential race. Except they were only talking about it in the context of the GOP nomination. I think I hinted at this once before, but let me make this abundantly clear. If the GOP nominates someone way out on the right to satisfy the base, Giuliani runs as an independent. And probably wins. Guys like Chris Matthews can't seem to think beyond the two-party paradigm, and that's unfortunate.
On the other side of the aisle, what I find fascinating is that everyone just assumes that Hillary Clinton wins the nomination if she runs, which generates all the wringing and gnashing of hands and teeth, respectively. I don't buy into that assumption, plain and simple.
