NP: Everlast, White Trash Beautiful
Okay, I'm annoyed. This tends to happen when someone, for no good reason, forces me to change ways of doing things that have worked for many, many years. Chase says they're limiting withdrawals (only six per month before they hit you with a $12 fee) from savings accounts in order to encourage savings, but I can't help but think that, the more you withdraw money from your checking account, the greater the chance you bounce a check and have to pay them an overdraft fee. Even without the conspiracy theory, it cuts right to the heart of how I do business -- I use my savings as a slush fund/buffer so I can better ration my cash spending, and always have -- and it has me very pissed off. At least two Chase employees can vouch for this agitated state of mind.
The plus side is that I can cancel at least two of three accounts I have with Chase in a fit of pique with no downside. Killing the checking account might take a little more conviction on my part, but the savings is now patently useless to me, and I haven't touched the credit card in probably a couple of years now. I may have to look into whether or not Washington Mutual is as customer-friendly as they would have us believe.
