Today's Deliberately Misread Headline

NP: Peter Gabriel, Us

The Washington Post's "On Politics" e-mail newsletter today leads with OMB Head To Replace Card as Top Bush Aide, which I saw as George W. Bush tapping Paul Humphreys of Orchestral Maneuvers In The Dark.

Incidentally, the WaPo also seems excessively kind in its assessment of the change, with the headline of its followup analysis piece by Jim VandeHei reading "Card's Departure Seen as a Sign President Hears Words of Critics." Maybe VandeHei got one of those private "shoot-the-shit"/charm offensive meetings with the President last week.
