NP: Tortoise, Standards
I've said in the past that I typically need two different stories, or angles on a particular story, for me to write something. Because I like tying things together, hopefully in ways other people haven't thought of. In a pinch, though, I'll just leave a tab open in my browser with something interesting and see if I can come up with a clever title.
To that end, Josh Marshall echoes what has been an interesting political meme I've seen floating around in the last week or two, and that is what might happen to all these clandestine efforts of the Bush administration if the Democrats can wrestle control of, well, anything in the midterms. If Congress were in a position to challenge these claims of executive privelege, some crazy shit might start being revealed. And I don't think it's totally idle speculation, either, when you consider that the Senate subcommittee that called those energy executives in for testimony wouldn't swear them in.
