It's A Zoo In There

NP: Bloque, Bloque

The Sun-Times gave a bit of a preview of Q101's new morning show yesterday. I'm both optimistic and worried at the same time here. On the one hand, a witty and irreverant version of WBBM might be enjoyable to listen to. On the other hand, if you try to do witty and irreverant, but because it's trendy and you don't really understand what that means, you get Red Eye. Plus, no there's mention whatsoever of music, and what I really want, as a listener, is all the news, weather, traffic and entertainment -- irreverant or not -- interspersed with some actual tunes.

I'll try to be patient and not dismiss the show out of hand if they don't live up to their Daily Show comparisons in the first week, but it'll be tough. Especially because Q101 doesn't stream, which limits how much I can listen while I try to get out of my apartment on time. That seems to be getting tougher every day, especially when I forget that I have to move my car for street cleaning and don't bring my car keys because I decided to ride my bike to work at the last minute. Not that that's ever happened in the last 12 hours or anything.
