Buses and Who Gets Thrown Under Them

NP: John Cage, 4'33"

So, everybody's flagging Kirk Fordham's testimony before the House Ethics Committee yesterday. The key bit that I caught on Olbermann last night was that Fordham is still claiming that Denny Hastert's Chief of Staff Scott Palmer told him that he told his boss about it. Palmer is making some non-specific denials, and my guess is still that he's going to end up being the fall guy here, claiming he tried to take care of it without getting Hastert's hands dirty. Whether or not he can prove it is obviously another matter, especially given that the two live together in Washington. But Palmer gives the GOP at least a little bit of an out, so that Hastert's office can be scapegoated without Hastert himself personally being held responsible, at least by any legal entity.
