Rite Of Refusal

NP: The Very Best of Elvis Costello & The Attractions

There seem to be a lot of stories about networks refusing to air political advertisements this cycle. What I'm curious about is whether this is common during an election season, and if there's any kind of count of these incidents over time and by party. I've thrown this idea over the wall to Talking Points Memo, not that I expect anything to come of that. Then again, I wouldn't have expected a Daily Kos diarist to find me here, either.
