The Greatest American Mistake

NP: Bulls vs. Heat

So the thing that astounds me, and yet shouldn't, about this John Kerry flap is what the GOP is trying to claim as an insult. Because John Kerry didn't botch a joke. John Kerry actually respected his audience, and let them fill in the punch line at the end. For that, he's once again being targeted by the right-wing spin machine. For knowing the people in front of him were smart enough to fill in the blank. Of course, that's what you get for respecting a dishonorable opponent, and forgetting that your audience isn't just those people in the room.

If anything, Kerry committed a minor infraction of forgetting that last part, but even that wasn't as egregious as, say, George Allen actually mocking the guy with the camera recording what he was saying.
