The High Price Of Early Adoption

NP: The Massive 2006 Playlist

I was going to write about this Washington Post piece on falling TV prices, and what the price of buying a big-ass TV last fall turned out to be, but then I did the math and felt a little nauseous. I think it may effectively have been the same as doubling my cable bill for a year, probably more like 150%.

Then again, if you assume I had to buy some kind of new set anyway, rather than use the 14-year old 19" CRT the BATV replaced, it's not quite as bad. I don't regret the purchase, anyway.
