The Slow Motion Virus

NP: Charmed

Last night was odd. Right around midnight, I could feel my sinuses start to constrict. By the time I got home, I couldn't breathe at all through my nose. My brain, sensing this was not an ideal situation, decided breathing would be important to sleeping, and deprived me of the latter due to the lack of the former. Eventually I made some soup and took some DayQuil before discovering I had some nighttime cold medicine. It didn't do the proverbial trick, but it was close enough.

Work on three hours' restless sleep was also not ideal, but such is life when you're the only person who does what you do. After pumping myself with orange juice, TheraFlu, Cold-Eze, more DayQuil, tea and subscribing to the "feed a cold" theory, I got enough done to get home, where I'm now face down in another bowl of chicken broth. Which is surprisingly effecive, I might add.

My immune system used to be the stuff of legend. I don't know what happened, although the one-two punch of an insanely drafty bedroom and momentarily mistaking "unseasonably warm" for "warm" may have contributed.

Not much on TV in the middle of the afternoon, I might also add.
