Math Update

NP: Radiohead, OK Computer

The NCAA math rolls on. As of this writing, it's responsible for the following:

  • 29 out of 32 first round matches correct.
  • 12 out of the Sweet 16.
  • 7 out of the Elite 8.
  • 3 out of the Final 4.

Long story short, if Ohio State beats Georgetown, I win the pool regardless of what happens in the Championship game. I don't know if this year was a matter of the selection committee getting the seeds right, which subsequently let my math work right, or if the other factors would have intervened where necessary. Since the latter sort of worked out with a couple of first-round upsets, it's not totally clear.

Now if only I remembered what my formula actually was.
