Time On My Side

NP: John Cage, 4'33

Joe Klein says something similar to the point I was getting at before, along with comments about possible middle grounds that may not ever make it into the discussion. This is where the divergence between the mainstream media and the blogosphere gets very clear. The mainstream view is that the Democrats can't win this fight and as such, must ultimately give in. The blogosphere rejects this conventional wisdom as neither conventional nor wise. On the one hand, the MSN is entrenched in a certain way of thinking that is much less nimble than the anything-goes frontier of the Internet. On the other, the blogs can be painfully naive about how things really work.

Not unlike the war "debate" itself, there's a middle ground that neither side seems willing to admit to.
