Smackdown

NP: Athlete, Beyond The Neighbourhood

If you ever wondered why Tony Snow seemed to enjoy being White House Press Secretary, it was clearly because he was, as Jon Stewart said in the first interview segment, "great at it." He completely owned Stewart -- who didn't bring anything close to his "A" game -- on The Daily Show last night. Watch how Snow parries the pointed questions, slightly changing the subject to "jerk back" and deflect criticism, until he finds his opening at the end and thrusts hard for the kill. Stewart never had a chance. He might have if he had been able to hone in on the right line of questioning -- leaks of sensitive information, for example, might have been a bit more fruitful.
