Overreacting

NP: Fishbone, Truth and Soul

I think Kevin Drum goes a little overboard in his criticism of John McCain on autism and thimerosal. Yes, the scientific consensus seems to have buried the thimerosal claims, but the definitive research was released not too long ago, if I remember correctly.

So it's not so much that John McCain is wrong as it is that he's about six months behind on certain fringe issues. I don't think that's all that damning, although you'd like the guy to do his homework.
