NP: The Ting Tings, We Started Nothing
I don't know much about Stuart Taylor, but from Andrew Sullivan's accounting of his proposal to grant immunity to potential war criminals, I get the feeling he's trying to build momentum for this meme so that it becomes almost conventional wisdom and hard to disagree with. Then, after someone accedes to the conventional wisdom and agrees to it, the defendants all clam up and everybody on the Administration wins while the rest of us lose.
This is an aspect of controlling the message that I feel like the right has been able to pull off in the past, but I can't think of any concrete examples at the moment.
