Making fun of David Brooks seems like a requirement of any left-wing blogger, but in the midst of one such exercise, Steve Benen quotes Brooks saying something important:
Then, too, they listened to the loudest and angriest voices in their party, oblivious to the complicated anxieties that lurk in most American minds. Now they have once again confused talk radio with reality.
Any time the Daily Kos community gets all bent about something Barack Obama has said or done, they should read this. Out loud. Several times. For my money, Obama not kowtowing to the corresponding voices on the left is not a bug, it's a feature.
