I Beg To Differ

Alfonso Soriano says the Cubs were "built for a marathon, not for a sprint," and that this contributed to the Chicago Northsiders' demise in the first round of the playoffs.

Now, if "built for a marathon" means "you only have so many swings of the bat that you can use over the length of the entire season, so you should always swing at the first pitch so you don't run out," then maybe he's on to something.
