About That Math

NP: Genius Playlist from "First Wave Intact" by Secret Machines

You can infer from the lack of gloating posts about how my statistical wrangling have vaulted me to the top of my NCAA office pool that my math this year sucked, and sucked hard. In my defense, I think I knew it sucked, but didn't have the time to start tweaking the hell out of it. I have some ideas for next time -- the way the predictions seemed biased against the Big East is key to figuring some of it out -- and I'll have twice as much data to work with.

It's a shame, too, because there's suddenly an opening for "biggest stats geek in Chicago" now that Nate's leaving.
