Not Quite Nunzio's, But It'll Do

NP: Gomez, A New Tide

Uptown Update flags a review of Gigio's, which is simultaneously one of the best slices of New York-style pizza you can find in Chicago and one of the scarier storefronts you might step into. Still, if you're going to a show at the Riv or the Aragon, you have to stop in for a slice or two. I do, anyway. Delivery is another kettle of anchovies, as my first delivery experience with them was pretty horrible, and also my last.

But, again, good pizza, and doesn't succumb to either the annoying giant-slice of Bacci or the over-engineering of those two places on Clark just south of Wrigley.

I didn't realize there was no connection between the Uptown Gigio's and the one in Evanston, because the latter is also a solid NY-style choice.
