NP: John Cage, 4'33"
The blogosphere isn't terribly good at being patient, so while Andrew Sullivan frets that Iran won't see immediate political change in the aftermath of the last couple of weeks, Fareed Zakaria points out that the situation is much more complicated than, say, other post-Soviet revolutions of recent memory, and that change may be more possible now than before. I'm going to trust Zakaria on this more than Sullivan, and I do think that we've witnessed a beginning of an end in Iran, but unfortunately, it's not something that can be transformed overnight.
I also saw mention somewhere that the last big revolution in Iran took something like two full years to happen, but that was, like, so way before Twitter.
As for the title of this post, it goes back to Queen's theme song for The Highlander, which had a chorus of "I want it all, and I want it now." Which may as well be the theme song of the Internet era.
I never realized Queen did the theme song for so many terrible quasi-sci-fi movies back in the day. Flash Gordon and The Highlander? Next thing you're gonna tell me is that they're doing Back to the Future IV with Adam Lambert
