Long Time, No Blog

NP: Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention, "Return Of The Son Of Monster Magnet"

Wow, it had been nearly a month since I wrote anything that wasn't about the Fire or the local music scene. You may (or may not) be aware that I started a new full-time job back at the end of March -- my time in the wilderness clocked in at just under a year -- and I've come to realize that I've been trying to do pretty much everything I was doing before on top of the fifty or sixty hours a week I'm now in the office or getting to and from the office.

Occasionally, I find time to sleep. Conveniently, I don't find time to date.

This has also meant readjusting my interaction with media and the Web and all that. I can't really "drink from the firehose" the same way I used to, and I'm still figuring out how to effectively consume and create content in this environment. Actually, I'm still trying to rebuild some sort of productivity system across the board, and that's part of it. Another part may be an iPad. At least that's how I'm rationalizing that inevitable purchase, along with glowing reviews from local radio personalities.
