NP: John Cage, 4'33"
I'm having trouble reconciling this story that 3 out of 4 people on the web in this country have been victims of online crime, unless that definition includes someone saying mean things about you on Twitter. Or being tracked by an ad server cookie.
The alternative is, of course, that people are really, really dumb. Or, perhaps, just gullible, which is the case made in one of the books about the Tea Party that David Weigel reviews over at Slate. With some of the products being shilled to that audience, I could definitely see some of them clicking on links in random e-mails.
Seems like you're the sucker, on both counts.
1. The "study" was created by a software vendor of products to reduce the problems cited by the study.
2. Your misconception about Tea Party supporters is a false portrayal perpetrated by liberals and Democrats by their friends in the media.
Suggestion: seek better information before forming misguided opinions.
You did see the part where I said "unless that definition includes someone saying mean things about you on Twitter. Or being tracked by an ad server cookie," right? Your point #1 is implied. As for the other bit, it's more about the existence of the "freedom seeds" guy -- clearly someone thinks they can make a quick buck off of these folks.
